Revue just released the results of this year’s Best of the West readers’ poll, and for the fifth year in a row, Fitzgerald’s took the Men’s Clothing Boutique category.
We’ll be honest — the first year felt like a nice surprise. The fifth year feels like something else. Not a fluke. Not a trend. Just West Michigan telling us, again, that the way we do things around here still works.
Best of the West isn’t a panel of judges or a magazine staff pick. It’s a readers’ choice survey — thousands of people across West Michigan voting for the places they actually go, actually trust, actually tell their friends about. Revue’s been running it for years as part of covering the region’s arts, food, and shopping scene, and it’s grown into the poll people wait for every year. So when a category like this gets decided by the neighborhood and region, it means something a little different than an award plaque.
We don’t chase trends here. We don’t do the hard sell. We show up, we know your name, we make sure the fit is right, and we let the shirts and the suits and the shoes do the talking. Apparently, enough of you noticed to vote for it five times in a row.
So — thank you. To everyone who’s walked through our doors at Breton Village (also a BOTW Finalist), who’s sent a friend our way, who filled out a ballot because we came to mind. That’s the whole business model, really: be worth remembering.
Come by and see what earned it this year. Same doors, same crew, same reason you keep coming back.
